MassiveMusic: Discovering new dimensions of sound
The rebranding of Massive Music, carried out by the Koto agency, is a perfect example of combining a B2B service package within a single, powerful strategic idea: “New dimensions of sound.” The main challenge was to transform an extensive service portfolio into a clear, coherent narrative that reinforces the power of sound through creativity and technology.
The solution transforms the invisible impact of music into a tangible visual and emotional system. It is based on a generative pattern language that visualizes the physical sensations evoked by sound, such as goose bumps or tingling in the spine. The refreshed symbol retains its distinctive asymmetry but gains a more assertive, expressive stance, combined with a custom, wide-spaced wordmark that balances warmth and precision.
The design system uses a subdued monochromatic palette, punctuated by a distinctive, signature orange color. Most importantly, the typography, using the Forma DJR Display font, adapts to different volume levels, allowing the brand to attract attention or focus on content, depending on the context of communication.
Perhaps the most important achievement is the digital implementation. Koto and its development partner, Good City, rebuilt the website to ensure that the brand identity is expressive and does not become less distinct online.
